TRENT GERARD EDWARDS
I want these paintings to seem as if they just appeared out of nowhere, choosing them not to casually decorate the world but to bring things anew. They're singularities derived from a concentrated focus and intimate process and if even given the chance, I wouldn't be able to duplicate the sensitive nuances of each and any of them. The combined elements I finally settle on and allow in each piece, are things I see while painting and thus create a possible or real experience; this then mixes with your own memories.

My work strives to promote salient questions and reactions. The "art" of it all is a private individual reality stirring inside you and in the silent exchange between the "artwork" and you, the person seeing it. For me to begin defining the image of the painting would be to also deter the feeling of your current truth. Trusting and somatically feeling your own interaction, is the best way to begin understanding; for as I am, you too are learning and growing through experience. Art is not something to simply look at but is better served by seeing through it. A living aliveness - if you will.
